Kawasaki to Launch a 250cc Single Cylinder Ninja

Finally an affordable entry level sport bike by Kawasaki.

Of course, the Kawasaki Ninja 300 is the best entry level sport bike in the world. Considering design, performance and handling, none can even come closer to this machine. But, these are not all to make a motorcycle highly successful in the market. There is something, the price factor.

Honda CBR250R and KTM Duke 390 are the prime rivals of the Ninja 300. Well, Honda and KTM are doing great business in the market with their above mentioned machines due to a much affordable pricing. The CBR250R is priced $4,699 for its ABS variant, while the Ninja 300 ABS goes for a whooping $5,299.

Kawasaki Ninja 300R

Realizing the fact, Kawasaki has decided to work on a budget entry level sport motorcycle. The studies have found out that the twin-cylinder engine used in the Ninja 300 machine is the prime cause of expensive pricing. On the other hand, both CBR and Duke are powered by a single-cylinder heart only. Though those single-cylinder engines can't reach even nearer to the power generated by a twin-cylinder heart, people consider fuel efficiency and affordable pricing these days.

Kawasaki might launch the all new single-cylinder powered motorcycle in two versions – faired and naked. The faired model is rumoured to be named as 250SL RR Mono, while the naked one gets tagged 250SL Mono.
