The wait is over. Now we have the most anticipated enduro, the 2014 KTM 1190 Adventure. It is over a decade since the first generation Adventure motorcycle from Mattinghofen had launched. Since then it the entire motorcycle world has been witnessing several movements made by this Austrian consortium in the of and on-road segment. As KTM unveils the all new next generation 1190 Adventure, what else needed for the motorcycle enthusiasts to cheer up in the name of bi-wheeler.
It is certainly hard for the KTM engineers to upgrade the machine which has almost zero faults. So we can imagine how superb and outstanding the new machine would be. KTM has won Dakar Rally 11 times. It is considered as one of the hardest motorcycle championships in the world. What makes the machine so special from its rivals is the recipe of KTM to convert race-specified machines to road motorcycles. It makes the motorcycle to be more perfect and more powerful.
Let's have a close look at it. The 2014 KTM 1190 Adventure has a dashing design. The all new graphics that is worked on its trademark shade, orange gives a high appealing presence to it. The wind shield and the highly positioned headlight portion brings out the beauty of a true enduro. Its half faired body kits, slightly brought out frames and sportily designed split seat ensure some drastic feeling.
The 1190 Adventure is equipped with a 1195cc, 2-cylinder, 4-stroke, spark-ignition engine, 75° V arrangement, liquid-cooled engine. The wild machine is capable to produce a maximum power of 150.0 bhp @ 9500 rpm and maximum torque of 92.2 lb.-ft. @ 7500 rpm. It is coupled with a 6 speed gear transmission.
The machine has been made out of Steel-tube trellis frame, which is extra powerful and light-weight. This chassis combines lightness with outstanding geometry and fantastic suspension. Further to ensure a better ride, KTM has wedded with a front suspension, WP 48mm fork adjustable for rebound damping and with a rear suspension, WP shock adjustable for spring preload and rebound damping. It enables a relaxed and a comfortable riding.
Go to whatever speed you wanna go. You have got Dual Brembo four-piston calipers, 320mm disc barkes with ABS at front and a Brembo two-piston caliper, 268mm rear disc brake with ABS. Thanks to its gripping tyres. The front wheel is equipped with a 120/70ZR-19 Continental Trail Attack 2 tyre, while the backward has a bigger 170/60ZR-17 Continental Trail Attack 2 tyre. It weight is more impressive. It weighs only 212 kg even though it is loaded of many stuffs. The 1190 Adventure has 23 litre capacity fuel tank.
Aprilia Caponord, BMW R1200GS, Ducati Multistrada, Moto Guzzi Stelvio, Triumph Tiger Explorer, and Yamaha Super Tenere are the major rivals of 2014 KTM 1190 Adventure.
